Roskomnadzor found the ideology of terrorist organizations in the BBC materials

Roskomnadzor revealed materials on the resources of the BBC-TS WARLD News publication that translate the ideological attitudes of international terrorist organizations, TASS reports citing the department.

“At the moment, materials that translate the ideological attitudes of international terrorist organizations (quotes of the Al-Baghdadi terrorist, the leader of the Islamic State terrorist group prohibited in the Russian Federation) have been identified,” the report said.

In this regard, Roskomnadzor intends to check the publication. “In the period from January 14 to January 31, 2019, a check of compliance with British Telezhn LLC licensed and mandatory requirements in the field of television broadcasting will be carried out,” the department said.

In addition, the company sent a request to provide documents that confirm compliance with the requirements of the law on restricting direct or indirect control of Russian media by foreign organizations. These data should be provided before January 16.

Roskomnadzor began checking the BBC on December 21 after the British OFCOM media regulator recorded violations of the rules of impartiality in broadcasting of the Russian RT channel.
