The Ministry of Defense asked him to bring down the passenger aircraft violating borders

The Ministry of Defense prepared a bill in which it is proposed to allow the Russian military to bring down passenger aircraft if they violate state borders and create a threat of ground -based objects, the Izvestia newspaper writes about this with reference to regulation.gov.ru.

According to the proposal of the Ministry of Defense, the government should allow the fire to shoot at the element of the intriguer. Now the document is undergoing interdepartmental approvals. The text of the bill spells out in detail the procedure for the action of the detector of the commander at the state border.

For example, the document says that the forces of the VKS are brought into increased combat readiness if an unidentified plane approached the border at a distance of less than 50 km. For the Eastern Military District, a distance of 100 km is installed, and for the sea border - 150 km. At the same time, the military will first try to contact the offender, warn him and remove it outside the country's airspace or put him on the airfield.

If the aircraft does not respond to these actions, a decision is made on its immediate liquidation. For this, artillery can be used. Moreover, if the border is violated by the Russian aircraft captured by terrorists or stolen, it will force it to land.

The publication notes that now, according to the law “On counteracting terrorism”, the military have the right to bring down and do not obey the requirements of the authorities. At the same time, the Decree of the Government of 1994 prohibits shooting aircraft that violate the state border, if it is known that there are passengers on board.
