Macron refused to come to the economic forum in Davos

French President Emmanuel Macron will not attend the World Economic Forum (WEF), which will be held in Davos, Reuters reported , citing the Elysee Palace.

According to the official statement, the president has a busy schedule, so there is no time left for Davos. In particular, Macron will take part in a national debate on issues related to the protest of the “yellow vests”.

The Elysee Palace added that on January 21, Macron will hold an economic forum in Versailles with French business leaders.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump decided to cancel a visit to the forum in Davos because of the "intransigence of the Democrats on the issue of border security and the great importance of security" for the American nation.

At the same time, Russian businessmen Oleg Deripaska, Viktor Vekselberg and the head of VTB Andrey Kostin will go to the WEF), despite restrictions from the organizers.

Recall that for the first time the issue of the participation of Kostin, Vekselberg and Deripaska was reported by the Financial Times newspaper. According to the interlocutors of the newspaper, the organizers have no legal grounds to forbid businessmen to come to the forum, but their arrival was declared undesirable.
