The European Union demanded that Russia release a Ukrainian accused of promoting terrorism

The European Union has demanded that Russia release Ukrainian Pavel Hryb, who is accused of promoting terrorist activities. This is reported by TASS with reference to the document of the official representative of the European Foreign Service, Maya Kosyanich.

She stated that Hryb was being held in custody in Russia without any specific charges.

“The European Union looks forward to his immediate release and access to the special medical care he needs. Ukrainian doctors should be able to examine him, a requirement for which is also contained in the latest ruling of the European Court of Human Rights,” Kosyanich notes.

• Mushroom was given a disability. According to his father, he must constantly take medication. On October 12, 2018, Ukrainian doctors were not allowed to see the arrested person. After that, the Ukrainian authorities accused Russia of intentionally harming Hryb's health.

• On December 12, during a court session, the arrested person became ill. Ambulance doctors announced the need to conduct an examination of his state of health. After that, the European Court of Human Rights demanded from the Russian authorities information about the health and treatment of Grib. The man is in a pre-trial detention center in the Rostov region. In November 2018, his arrest was extended until April 24, 2019.

• Pavel Hryb is accused of assisting terrorist activities (Part 1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, while on the territory of Ukraine, he suggested to a resident of Sochi to detonate a bomb on a school line. According to Grib himself, he went to Gomel to meet a girl from Sochi, whom he met on social networks, and after the meeting was detained. The reason for the persecution could be his anti-Russian statements in social networks.

• Pavel Hryb is on the Sentsov List, a list of political prisoners whose release is demanded by the convicted director. OVD-Info collected known information about 88 people associated with Ukraine and persecuted by the Russian authorities. Among these people there are both those deprived of liberty and those sentenced to suspended sentences, which means that they have limited movement.
