Entertainment Weekly has released a teaser trailer for the new (as yet untitled) Ghostbusters movie. The video shows the Ecto-1 hearse covered with a tarpaulin, on which the main characters of the previous tapes rode. In the video, you can see flashes of proton beams - they lure ghosts into traps.
The picture will be a continuation of the first and second films and will not take into account the restart of 2016. The tape is directed by Jason Reitman, son of director Ivan Reitman, who directed the original Ghostbusters. The eldest of the Reitmans will act as a producer.
Plot details are not revealed. It is also unknown if Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, who played the main characters in previous films in the series, will return to their roles (their colleague Harold Ramis died in 2014). Jason Reitman describes his film as "passing the baton" - that is, it is likely that in the sequel there will also be old heroes who will teach the new generation.
Principal photography for the Ghostbusters sequel will begin in the coming months. The release of the tape is scheduled for the summer of 2020.
