Theresa May's government overcomes parliament's vote of no confidence

The House of Commons of Great Britain did not support a vote of no confidence in the government of Theresa May.

306 deputies voted in favor of the vote of no confidence in the cabinet, 325 voted against.

May herself said after the vote that she would fulfill the will of the people of Great Britain and carry out the exit from the European Union.

  • The question of a vote of no confidence in the government was put by the opposition Labor Party, after the deputies did not support the agreement on the procedure for leaving the EU, reached as a result of May's talks with Brussels.
  • The UK is due to leave the EU on 29 March 2019.
