Ministry of Internal Affairs: Nastya Rybka and Alex Leslie were detained at the airport on charges of involvement in prostitution

Anastasia Vashukevich (Nastya Rybka) and Alexander Kirillov (Alex Leslie) were detained at Sheremetyevo airport upon arrival from Thailand in the case of involvement in prostitution, the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow told Mediazona.

“As part of the proceedings in a criminal case initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 240 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, three citizens of the Russian Federation and a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, who arrived on a flight from the Kingdom of Thailand, were detained at Sheremetyevo airport,” said an employee of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Now the four detainees are being taken to the police station.

Article 240 of the Criminal Code provides penalties for involvement in prostitution; its second part includes the commission of a crime by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or with movement across the border. Under the second part of this article, the court may impose a sentence of imprisonment for up to six years.

On January 15, a court in Thailand found Nastya Rybka, Alex Leslie and six other people guilty of illegally conducting sex training; they received suspended sentences and nine months of real imprisonment, which they had already spent in a pre-trial prison. The convicts were deported from the country, but already at Sheremetyevo airport they were detained by Russian security forces.

Nastya Rybka and Alex Leslie became famous after the investigation of politician Alexei Navalny about businessman Oleg Deripaska and Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko. The investigation was based on excerpts from Rybka’s book and photographs from her Instagram. Later, the girl’s posts aroused Deripaska’s claims, and through the court he demanded that Rybka remove them.

The Ust-Labinsky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory upheld the claim and ordered the removal of the materials. In addition, he ordered Rybka and Leslie to pay the businessman 500 thousand rubles each.
