In Moscow, former and current police officers were detained on suspicion of apartment fraud, according to the website of the Moscow Ministry of Internal Affairs. A TASS source in law enforcement agencies clarified that the detainees were employees of the Konkovo police department.
“Four police officers, including the head of the duty station, are suspected of fraud. Now the FSB and the Investigative Committee work at the Konkovo police station. Two local police officers are going to be detained under Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure,” said a Moskva agency source in law enforcement agencies.
He added that, according to investigators, the real estate fraud concerns the period from 2010 to 2014. The Investigative Committee confirms that they are conducting searches of police officers who may be involved in apartment fraud.
The Moscow police have launched an internal audit, following which the detainees may be fired.
