The police opened a case of extorting money from a resident of Miass for remaining silent about his homosexuality

In the Chelyabinsk region, a criminal case of extortion (Part 1 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code) was opened against a resident of Miass, who complained that unknown people were demanding money from him, threatening to “tell the whole city” that he was gay. This was reported by 74.ru with reference to the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the publication, before the New Year, the 20-year-old LGBT representative began receiving threats on social networks. First, from a fake account, they demanded two thousand rubles from a young man for silence, and then from another page they demanded another 800 rubles.

Because of the threats, the young man wrote a statement to the police. Who exactly threatened the Miass resident has not yet been established.
