Owners of Ariston water heaters and boilers with control function via a mobile application complained about failures in connecting to it. A company representative on Yandex.Market explained this by the actions of Roskomnadzor. Meduza drew attention to this.
Mikhail, a resident of Krasnodar, complained about interruptions in work. On December 28, he wrote that he could not connect the Ariston iOS application to the water heater.
“This is due to the blocking of IP addresses of the Telegram messenger by Roskomnadzor. Based on the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office dated April 16, 2018 No. 27-31-2018/Id2971-18, some Amazon IP addresses used by Ariston were blocked, which led to errors in the operation of the application,” the company’s response says.
Google Play users also reported that the application was not functioning properly.
Roskomnadzor has been blocking the Telegram messenger in Russia by decision of the Tagansky Court of Moscow since April 2018. In the first months, the department blocked several million IP addresses of Amazon services and other large hosters that Telegram used. Online stores, gaming and other services reported disruptions.
As the BBC reported , RKN plans to introduce a new blocking technology worth 20 billion rubles.
