Deripaska filed a lawsuit against Zyuganov

Oleg Deripaska sued Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov demanding 1 million rubles in compensation for non-pecuniary damage.

The reason for the lawsuit was Zyuganov's statement at the plenary session of the State Duma on January 9, when he called the business founded by Deripaska a scam and a crime: “I think that Deripaska's aluminum business is the biggest scam. First, the factories were stolen from the citizens, and now they are being handed over to the Anglo-Saxons. It is necessary to investigate this crime, because it is directed against the strategic policy of our country and its security.”

“We regard this statement as an insult to dignity and a deliberate attempt to cause reputational damage both to the founder of Rusal and to all employees involved in its creation and development,” Deripaska’s representative told the RBC news agency .

“I am not afraid of courts. Do you already know what count? My lawyers will figure it out,” Zyuganov said, commenting on the lawsuit.
