Renault is preparing to launch a system of online car sales, which will allow customers who fully pay for the purchase to get a car with home delivery. This is written by Vedomosti with reference to top managers of one of the dealers of a French car company and a source familiar with Renault managers.
The new sales tool is planned to be launched in May-June based on the Renault online show, which appeared in Russia in 2016, where the possibility of booking cars from dealers for prepayment is now available. According to the sources of the publication, the system of online sales of machines can be used to promote the Renault Arkana coupe-conservice-this model will enter the Russian market in 2019.
Currently, the online shows presented the entire Renault lineup available in Russia, including cars from the company’s warehouse and are among dealers. In total, 124 dealerships in 85 cities of Russia are connected to the online shuurum, and in the future, all Russian Renault dealers will connect to it. Using the online show, the company sold 27,000 cars, and more than 80% of them were crossovers Kaptur and Duster.
Commenting on the idea of selling cars online with home delivery, one of the interlocutors of the publication noted that there should not be problems with paperwork in this case: the paper can be prepared in advance and brought to the client to sign with the car. To deliver cars, you can use evacuators that all dealers have, but it is not yet clear who will pay for delivery and acquiring costs, since the dealers themselves will not pull these expenses. “For ectaring, for example, 1.5–2% is taken, and the dealer margin - 5% and less,” the source of Vedomosti explained.
Other auto companies in Russia basically do not practice a 100%online payment of new cars. For example, the Nissan company implements such a project based on sites of its dealers - you need to take the car after full prepayment on your own. The representative of Mitsubishi said that the company provides online sales of new cars in many countries, but in Russia, in cooperation with the Auto.ru portal, only a project for the sale of used cars has been launched.
According to Sergey Tselikov, CEO of Avtostat agency, customers of cars in Russia are not yet ready to pay for cars over the Internet and receive them without the ability to inspect the car. Therefore, those who want to buy a car online in the foreseeable perspective will be less than 1% of the total number of customers.
