The court extended the arrest of the accused for reposting a chat of Navalny supporters

On January 15, the Spassky District Court extended the arrest of Dmitry Tretyakov until April 18. A lawyer and supporter of Alexei Navalny is accused of calling for extremism (Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code). Lawyer Sergei Valiulin told OVD-Info about this.

The investigation believes that Tretyakov reposted an entry from Arkady Babchenko’s Telegram channel into an open chat in which Navalny’s supporters communicated. Thus, the activist allegedly called for extremist activities.

• According to law enforcement agencies, the text contains “signs of incitement in the form of a call for violent and destructive actions,” one of the points of which is “protest rallies.” The expert report highlighted quotes, including “It’s wrong to agree to agreed rallies,” “Take gas masks with you,” “Fight with the cops in the street. Don't give away yours. Spending the night on the street with fires.”
• Tretyakov was arrested in March 2018. Before this, a search was conducted in his apartment in the city of Spassk-Dalniy. During the operational activities, computer equipment was confiscated from the man.
