An administrative case was opened against the coordinator of Open Russia due to a video about the lack of schools

In Krasnodar, an administrative case was opened against a pediatric surgeon, coordinator of the regional branch of the Open Russia movement, Yana Antonova. She is accused of operating an undesirable organization (Article 20.33 of the Administrative Code). She writes about this on her Facebook.

The reason for initiating the case was a video with the symbols of Open Russia. It talks about the lack of schools in Krasnodar and that members of Open Russia sent an appeal to State Duma deputies with a request to allocate money from the federal budget for the construction of schools.

• At the beginning of July 2018, Antonova was fined 15 thousand rubles, having been found guilty of participating in the activities of an undesirable organization (Article 20.33 of the Administrative Code). According to the court, the Open Russia movement was considered undesirable. The judge referred to the Ministry of Justice website with a list of undesirable organizations, which included two British “Open Russia” groups that have no relation to the Russian movement.
• At the end of July of the same year, the coordinator of the regional branch of Open Russia was fined 20 thousand rubles. Antonova was found guilty of violating the procedure for holding a public event (Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) due to a single picket with a poster “Deputies, have you gone crazy?” The action was dedicated to the reform of the retirement age.
