A battalion from T-34 tanks was created in the Kantemirov Division

In the Kantemirovsky division of the Russian army, a battalion of 30 tanks of World War II T-34 was formed. This was reported by RIA Novosti agency with reference to the division commander Vladimir Zavadsky.

"Based on the instructions of the Minister of Defense, the chief of the General Staff, it was decided to create the T-34 battalion. The combined battalion will be deployed in Naro-Fominsk," Zavadsky quoted the agency.

Military personnel will be re-educated to the T-34, tanks will be used in parades and in the shooting of historical films, TASS notes.

30 tanks were donated by Russia by Laos, an agreement on this was concluded in January last year. Before the transfer of Russia, they were in service in the Lao army. The Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies notes that the Laosa T34-85 were produced in Czechoslovakia in the mid-1950s.

In December, Laos received the first batch of T-72B1 tanks from Russia. The exact number of supplies was not called, but the defense Minister Laos Tysamon Tiannyalat said that we are talking about several dozen cars.
