Volodin called a way to correct an imbalance in the Constitution of the Russian Federation

The Russian Constitution has an imbalance of branches of government, which can be eliminated by expanding the powers of the parliament, especially in the field of law enforcement, said the State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

“This would also eliminate a number of shortcomings of our constitution, which, as the chairman of the Constitutional Court and many other experts, are associated with the lack of proper balance in the system of retractions and counterbones of branches of power, roll in favor of the executive branch of power,” Volodin Tass quoted.

According to him, the amendment adopted in 2008 to the Basic Law on the obligation of the Government annually report to parliamentarians about the results of the activity should be expanded.

“It is necessary to develop this logic further, in particular, to detail and clarify the government’s reporting before the parliament on the issues posed by the State Duma, including on law enforcement,” the speaker said.
