On the one hand, someone in Chechnya is entitled to “Golden Raspberry” for the most failure scenario. On the other hand, the Titiev case inherits the best cartoons about a modest hero and nonsense villains. In each series, the attempt of the Chechen security forces to annoy Oyuba ends for them with a fall on a banana peel or burnt asses.
Here are the best episodes.
On January 9, 2018, Oyuba Titiev on the way to the dent is delayed by fighters of the quick response group (GBR) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kurchaloevsky district. "Find" drugs. They are taken to the department. Personal items are taken. They offer to admit guilt. (It always worked!) And Titiev tells them that without witnesses, the precious find is legally insignificant. The police are not fools: the human rights activist is taking it back and forced to play the scene again. Inhibit. They inspect - already with witnesses. Design. And it turns out that Oyub Titiev went to the dentist without documents, money and phone ...
On January 26, Oyuba Titieva must identify the witness who testified how the memorial allegedly bought drugs. Lawyer Pyotr Zaikin notes that his client is in slippers, and statists are in boots. And forces the investigator to re -take Titiev. When a witness is brought, he looks at the shoes. He says that he cannot identify anyone. The next day the investigator is fired. He writes a report that he falsified the protocol in favor of the accused ...
In order to refute Titiev’s testimony about re -detention, the police say that all cameras on the OMVD building just did not work on January 9th.
In order to refute Titiev’s testimony about the GBR fighters who detained him, the police say that they do not even know such an abbreviation. Titiev’s defenders find photographs on their Instagram accounts, in which there are people in the form with a “GBR” patch. The police delete them. Then Titiev’s defenders find videos and news about the work of the GBR on the websites of the Republican media and Ramzan Kadyrov himself. The police are powerless ...
And here is another fiasco. On January 21, it turned out: the drug examination was done in such a way that it is impossible to unequivocally say whether it is. This conclusion was reached by the chemical experts from the non-profit organization "Forensic Expert", to whom Titiev’s lawyers gave the document for the recheck.
The New Gazeta has already reported that the Shalinsky City Court is huddled in a flip building, on the facade of which the “Business Center” was written in gold letters above the portraits of the father and son of Kadyrov and Vladimir Putin. That the only hall is a corridor, worn out with human sides. That in its distant corner there is an washstand, and sometimes a cat walks across the hall. But this is a deceptive comfort.
Experts had to achieve interrogation with a battle.
Part 4 of Article 271 of the Code of Criminal Procedure does not imply that the court may refuse to interrogate a specialist who has already appeared to give explanations. However, when the lawyer Peter Zaikin interrogates about the interrogation of an independent Dactyloscopist expert (so that he explains how there were no fingerprints on the package with marijuana-at all draws), Judge Madin Zaynetdinova for some reason announces a break. And returns with refusal.
“You have not convinced the court,” Rusetdinov’s lawyers reproach, “in the need to interrogate the specialist.”
“Not a damn thing for yourself,” the Memorial, the Moscow intellectual Oleg Petrovich Orlov, quietly breaks out from one of the founders of the Memorial.
Lawyer Ilya Novikov asks to bring an objection to the actions of the judge, reads her article 271 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and exertures indignantly:
- For three months you listened to witnesses of accusations who could not say anything at all.
Protection tries again and asks to interrogate Svetlana Priimak, a chemist-material for 22 years of experience.
“Now it became clear to the court why interrogate,” Zaynetdinov retreats and, despite the objections of the prosecutor of the Kurchaloevsky district, Dzhabrail Akhmatov, invites the expert to the hall.
Primak says that, contrary to the law on state forensic examination and the recommendations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, experts from the investigation conducted a study on the wrong methodology. Their examination only indicates that the plant substance “found” in Titiev’s machine belongs to the genus of hemp. Meanwhile, hemp has several species, including a forty, in which the content of the psychoactive substance is negligible.
Primak and her colleague Eduard Bordaev told the court that the results of the official examination cannot be verified, because the imprisonment did not even indicate how the calculations were made.
And a new examination does not make sense, because the material thing was stored not in laboratory conditions and probably changed its properties.

- The examination was carried out in one day and did not care at all about a possible double -check. They do this when they are sure that no one will check, or they know exactly what kind of substance it is, because they themselves put it, ”Ilya Novikov explained to Novaya Gazeta.
The judge refuses to introduce an expert opinion to Primak and Bordaev.
Oyub Titiev, in a religious hat, I from the velor, watches all this, folding his hands on his chest. Everyone here is worried about something: the bailiffs-so that the journalists do not take a picture of the superfluous, lawyers-for tactics, the prosecutor-that he does not understand what a wide hemp is. It does not fuss, it seems, one Titiev.
In breaks to his cage, the same strong and calm men - relatives and friends are suitable one after another. Titiev passes his hands between the rods, clutch them from the outside into the lock, twists with his thumbs. Men quietly mutter about something in Chechen, laugh. The sun glitters on the coat of arms and the sleeve. Boats and bailiffs go back and forth along the corridor hall. It seems that this is a market, a coffee shop, and Titiev is a visitor. But this is Chechnya, in which the power practices hopeless executions, and a person who does not agree with this threatens three to ten.
The court will continue on January 28.
