For three months now, relatives have not known in which colony Panov, convicted in the case of “Crimean saboteurs,”

Relatives of Yevgeny Panov, convicted in Crimea in the case of “Crimean saboteurs,” have not received information about his whereabouts for three months. This was reported on 21 by the Crimean Human Rights Group.

On December 6, 2018, Panov was transferred from the Crimea to the colony of the Omsk region of Russia, it is not known which one. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine received a letter about this from the Federal Penitentiary Service on January 14, 2019. The letter says that as soon as Panov is taken to the colony, the administration will inform the Ukrainian embassy about this. There is no such notification yet.

The mother of the accused, Vera Kotelyanets, turned to the Ukrainian consul in Novosibirsk with a request to find out where her son was.

• In the case of the "Crimean saboteurs" there are two defendants - Andrey Zakhtey and Yevgeny Panov. According to investigators, the men were going to transport a group that planned to arrange explosions in the Crimea. Panov was sentenced to 8 years in a strict regime, Zakhtey, who made a deal with the investigation, to six years and six months.
• Zakhtey and Panov claimed that they were subjected to severe torture.
