Police in Perm have referred the case of the scarecrow with the face of President Vladimir Putin to the Investigative Committee for preliminary investigation. This is reported by the "Apology of Protest".
Activists of Navalny's local headquarters Danila Vasiliev and Alexander Shabarchin, as well as libertarian Alexander Kotov, are suspected of hooliganism committed by a group of people by prior agreement (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code).
“Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is classified as serious crimes, and since one of the suspects in the case is a minor, the case is under investigation by the investigative committee of Russia,” the project’s telegram channel says.
In November 2018, an effigy of Vladimir Putin in a prison uniform with the inscriptions “Liar” and “War criminal Pynya V.V.” was tied to an electric lighting pole in Perm. As the "Apology of Protest" reported , according to the investigation, "unidentified persons, expressing obvious disrespect for society based on political hatred or enmity, grossly violated public order."
Initially, only Shabarchin was among the suspects. He was detained the next day after the action. Later it became known about two more suspects .
It is known that Shabarchin is suspected not only of installing a scarecrow, but also of hanging an image of Putin on the city Christmas tree, under which unknown people left leaky boxes with the inscriptions “VAT 20 percent” and “self-employment tax.”
Now all three defendants in the case are under house arrest. They have already been searched, during which the suspects seized equipment, and Vasilyev also had his mother's phone number. Activists are interrogated, the issue of conducting expert examinations is being decided.
