The marijuana that the police allegedly found in the car of the head of the Grozny branch of the Memorial Human Rights Center, Oyub Titiev, may be weed and contain a small amount of the narcotic substance. This was stated at the meeting by specialists from the ANO “Forensic Expertise”, who were interrogated at the request of Titiev’s lawyers, reports the telegram channel “The Case of Oyub Titiev | Human Rights Center 'Memorial'".
In addition, experts noted that the forensic examination was carried out incorrectly; it was not clear from the documents whether drying was carried out and, if so, whether it was done correctly. However, the fingerprints found on the bag of marijuana could not be identified.
Criminologist Georgy Cherepenko noted in court that the experts who studied the prints on the package did not use all possible methods to identify them.
UPD The title has been changed. The original formulation about “non-narcotic” marijuana is incorrect, since the plant always contains a narcotic substance, but its amount may be small and not fall under the drug article.
