In October 2018, Zykov was charged with a repeated violation of the rules for holding a rally (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) due to a rally against raising the retirement age. Zykov also noted that he was wearing a special vest and he recorded violations by police officers. Despite this, the court fined him 300 thousand rubles.

“I work at the university, for me it is a lot of money. I will pay this fine for 8 years, which means that in a couple of months I can be arrested for non-execution of a court decision, ”Zykov said during a court hearing on January 22.

Later, Zykov announced the collection of funds for the fine.
