Experts called the cause of the death of dogs from the Druzhok shelter in the village of Chigiri. According to the autopsy, the animals could not die due to infections, the Veterinary Office of the Amur Region said in the Veterinary Office of Veterinary Medicine.

"Studies did not reveal dangerous infections in animals, including rabies. Pathological diagnosis is exhaustion," experts said on the management page on social networks.

Last week, the police started a criminal case on the fact of cruelty to animals in the rural shelter of the Amur Region. Previously, volunteers reported the death of 47 dogs in the Druzhok shelter.

The statement that animals in the shelter are contained in improper conditions was received by the police on January 15. The investigative-operational group of the municipal police department "Blagoveshchensky" found more than 40 corpses of dogs on the territory of the shelter.

Volunteers who distributed information about the death of dogs believe that in the territory of the shelter "Druzhok", the owner of which is Vyacheslav Zolotarev, there were several hundred dogs. Zolotarev opened a shelter for stray dogs in 2014 and concluded contracts for catching animals with administrations of several regions and cities of the region.

Having learned in what conditions the shelter contained dogs, local residents began to come there and pick up animals. By the evening of January 16, about a dozen of the most aggressive dogs remained on the territory, volunteers fed them and arranged warm streams to them.
