The UN Security Council could not make a single decision on the issue of Venezuela
The UN Security Council at an extraordinary meeting on Saturday January 26 could not develop a single solution to the problem of Venezuela. Members of the Council called for a political decision of the crisis. The UN press release states that the opinions of the Council of Security of the Council of Ministers of the following steps were divided.
Attempts to establish a political dialogue regarding the situation in Venezuela have been conducted since May 2016.

According to the Permanent Representative of Russia at the UN Vasily Nebenzi, the internal situation in the country does not stand on the agenda, and from the outside, according to Russia, Venezuela does not threaten nothing.
But the Security Council in 9 votes “For” accepted the proposal of discussion. The 4 countries of the Secondary Superior voted against the Russian, including Russia, China, South Africa and the equatorial Guinea. Indonesia and the cat-d'Ivoire abstained.
The United States called to recognize the leader of the opposition of Venezuela Juan Guydo as a temporary president.
Russia accused the United States of "unscrupulous games."
Venezuela Foreign Minister refused to recognize Juan Guydo as a temporary president, and also condemned what he called the US attempts to intervene in the affairs of the country. He stated that the United States is trying to erect an “ideological wall” and revive the Cold War strategies in Latin America.
Diplomatic relations of the United States and Venezuela are in a very tense state. Messages about what is happening contradict each other. So, Venezuela, who initially decided to send American diplomats from the country at 72 hours, now allowed them to stay, AP reports .
The United States has not yet planned to close its embassy in Venezuela, they recognized RIA Novosti. The same agency passed Maduro’s words a day later that American diplomats left the embassy in Karakas and the country.
Context. In addition to the political crisis, related to the fact that Venezuela now have two presidents - the elected Nicholas Maduro and the self -proclaimed Juan Guydo, the country is experiencing a deep economic decline.
According to the Deputy Secretary General of the UN on political issues and issues of world building, during the crisis the economy and the population of Venezuela, significant damage was inflicted:
Inflation in 2018 amounted to 1.37 million percent. This affected almost all 30 million Venezuelans;
Children's mortality doubled;
In the period from 2015 to 2017, 3.7 million inhabitants of Venezuela did not go;
About 3 million Venezuelans fled from the country and now live abroad.
