The Chechen activist threatens to provide human rights defenders with a “final stop” if a campaign to save gays does not stop in the republic

Igor Kochetkov, director of the Russian LGBT networks, has submitted an application for a crime to the Investigative Committee of Russia today-in connection with the persecution of the residents of Chechnya on suspicion of their homosexual orientation.

In his statement, Kochetkov pointed out that since the end of December, on the hotline of the Russian LGBT network, opened in March 2017, to help and evacuate the persecuted Chechen gays, the appeals of the inhabitants of Chechnya, as well as their relatives and acquaintances, began to arrive again. They talked about new mass reprisals in the republic.

In a statement, Igor Kochetkov reports that employees of a human rights organization are known for exactly at least 14 detainees.

All detainees were subjected to torture and the humiliating dignity, while this wave is characterized by a sharply increased degree of cruelty and sophistication of torture.

According to the information available in the Russian LGBT networks, the victims were held in the factory police department and in the building of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Grozny.

Igor Kochetkov transferred personal data to the Investigative Committee about one killed resident of Chechnya, which was detained during the new campaign against Chechen gays.

It was also decided to voice the name and surname of one of the detainees - Bekhan Yusupov , a resident of Chechnya, who received a shelter in France, but at the end of December last year to visit his relatives. Bekkhan Yusupov is about 50 years old, he arrived in Chechnya in his Renault Clio car. Soon after returning to the republic, he was detained. After he ceased to communicate both by Russian and French phone numbers, his acquaintances found out that he is illegally holding the Grozny Ministry of Internal Affairs along with other persons suspected of homosexual orientation. It is possible that his property could also be the reason for his detention (in particular, the machine on which he arrived from France). Recently, Chechen police are everywhere resort to the detention of residents of Chechnya in order to extort valuable things in exchange for freedom.

At the moment, as it became known to human rights activists, detained from the factory District Department of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Terrible transferred to other police departments. In particular, Bekhan Yusupov may currently be contained in the police department No. 8 of the village of Chernorechye. In total, from the end of December 2018, 23 people turned to the Russian LGBT network.

In connection with the spread of information about the new facts of gay persecution in Chechnya, threats began to come to human rights activists.

Thus, the Chechen Internet users are widely distributed to the appeal of the public figure of the republic, the representative of the Noah's Ark organizing committee Ali Baskhanov, who, in a video message to Igor Kochetkov ( recorded and preserved. - Ed. ) Almost directly threatens the human rights activist for the murder for betraying the situation with the persecution of gays in Chechnya.

Baskhanov calls Kochetkov “a creature, rot and son of the devil”, denies “the existence of such evil spirits on the territory of Chechnya (referring to the representatives of LGBT), which has never been and never will be”,

And he asks the question: "How did you dare to insult the whole people with such a humiliating present?" He says that his video message is a “warning” to the human rights activist, and if he “does not stop and does not leave the Chechen Republic alone,” this will be a “final stop” for him.

This speech almost literally repeats the repeated comments of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov on the situation with the persecution of Chechen gays. In the fact of the publicly voiced threats, human rights activists plan a separate appeal to the Investigative Committee of Russia.
