
More than half (56%) of Russians surveyed fear a military threat from other countries, follows from the results of the study of the Levada Center . 39 % of respondents do not believe in the existence of such a threat.
The vast majority (88%) of the Russian citizens surveyed are sure that the National Army will be able to protect the country in case of attack. This is the highest indicator for the entire time of the poll. 9% of respondents are not sure of the strength of the Russian troops.
The survey was conducted on December 13-19, 2018 among 1,600 Russians over 18 years old in 136 settlements, 52 constituent entities of the Russian Federation by personal interview. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.
Earlier, VTsIOM said that the Russians began to be better about the Russian army against the backdrop of an increased military threat to the country. 58% of respondents estimated as positive changes in the army over the past two to three years, about two-thirds of citizens would like to see anyone from their surroundings in the army.
