“Opera-86” is a “polite refusal” debut album, which, for some mysterious reasons, was not in due time published on any media, but went on lists on magnetic tape.
Having originated in the bowels of the “Music of Musical Experiments” “Red Pump”, in which in the early 80s Peter Pudvinsky, Dmitry Shumilov and Roman Suslov, and the group “27 km” played, in which the creative union of the novel by Suslov and the poet Arkady Semenov, “Politable Refusal” made a strong impression at the first appearance in the wide public. “Oh, this is a mystery team! It wanders around the city, flashing in various recreation centers, a dark quintet ... It drives the same dark -skinned one, or rap, or it’s scary to think! “Jazz,” wrote one of the reviewers of the magazine Urlight. "Yes, friends, this is a real art!" - wrote another. Eleven scenes of the rings with bright characters-the layman, telegraph, a proletarian, a pioneer, a harmonic, etc.-effectively immersed the usual realities of the era into a non-standard, non-imperial surroundings, and with varying degrees of sympathy, highlighting the absurdity of what is happening. Informed contemporaries were so impressed that the Opera-86 was declared "the prologue of a new ideological direction in domestic rock music-social symbolism."
In a word, this is a cult record, and soon it can be listened to in proper quality: “Polite Refusal” and the “Geometry” label officially published “Opera-86” on the CD. The album includes restored materials of the original magneto-album, as well as rare concert records with songs unknown to the general public-“Taxi of millions”, “TV”, “day and night”-and (the most unexpected!) Vocal cycle of the adswester composer Alexander Mosolov “Four newspaper ads”. It was written in 1926, and in 2009 Roman Suslov first performed it in a duet with a pianist Peter Aid. And he was waiting for his publication for almost 10 years - by the way, you can be the first to listen to him right now:
On February 7, in the legendary audience of the central house of the artist in the Crimean Val, which was closing in the spring, the “polite refusal” will be presented by the first official publication “Opera-86”, and in addition to the songs from this album (not performed for a long time), plays from the latest program of the group-Romances will be heard at the concert.
If you forgot how the “polite refusal” plays, listen to their concert performance of the song “Zenitchik” (and this is also the premiere):
