DELFI: House of Mayor Riga Neil Ushakov belongs to an employee of Rosneft

The mayor of Riga Neil Ushakov does not own the house in the Mezhapark, where the day before the search of the Bureau for the Prevention and Control of Corruption. In fact, real estate belongs to the official of Rosneft, Jorg Tumatu and his wife Christine Tumat, reports Delfi.

As the publication found out, Yorg Tumat occupies one of the key posts in Rosneft and concludes gas supply agreements. The Tumat family acquired a land plot in a 2,132 square meter inter -parcel in 2012 from Ektornet Real Estate Latvia. Its cost is about 430 thousand euros. It is noted that the house located in this territory has the status of a local monument.

The declaration of the mayor of Riga Neil Ushakov states that he owns only an apartment in the capital of Latvia. His spokeswoman Lyla Ivan told reporters that he was renting a house in the interjection.

On January 30, employees of the Bureau for Prevention and Control of Corruption conducted searches in the office and in the house of Ushakov in the Mezhapark. According to media reports, investigative measures may be associated with a scandal around the supply of public transport to Riga. According to investigators, enterprises from the Czech Republic and Poland gave a bribe in the amount of 800 thousand euros for the supply of about 200 buses and trolleybuses to the capital of Latvia.
