The Moscow Basmanny Court arrested for two months the father of the Senator of the Federation Council Rauf Arashukov - Raul Arashukov, accused of theft of natural gas worth more than 30 billion rubles, the MBH Media correspondent reports.

Arashukov is charged with the organization of a criminal community using an official position and fraud committed by a group of persons on an especially large scale.

“The President of Russia set in November the task of ending the theft of energy in Dagestan and the Caucasus. They started from the lung - at first they took their son, and then they took me. Raul Arashukov is an adviser to the General Director of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz LLC. According to the investigation, he organized a criminal community, which for several years contributed to the supply of larger gas to the North Caucasian gas industry than the needs of consumers. Excessive gas volumes were stolen and resold. The damage amounted to 30 billion rubles.

In addition, Raul Arashukov contributed to the appointment of his relatives and acquaintances in the posts at the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of the North Caucasus Federal District. They were also involved in theft.

Recently, he served as the Director General of Gazprom Gas Distribution Astrakhan and Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Astrakhan LLC. Also in the case are the director of the branch of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Stavropol LLC Guser Khashukoev, Gazprom Interregiongaz CEO of Igor Travinov and his first deputy - Nikolai Romanov. They were all arrested for two months.
