A case was opened in Chechnya regarding an attack on a mobile post of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

In Chechnya, the Investigative Committee opened a case after the shelling of a mobile post of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to the website of the department for the republic.

The case was opened under Article 317 of the Criminal Code (attack on the life of law enforcement officers).

The Investigative Committee reported that on the night of January 26, on the outskirts of the village of Sernovodskoye in the Sunzhensky district, a joint retractable post of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs department for the region and riot police of the National Guard department for the republic was fired upon. Two employees were injured.

The police returned fire at the attacker. According to the Investigative Committee, the next day security forces found his body in the forest, next to which lay a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

The Investigative Committee writes that the deceased turned out to be a 22-year-old resident of Ingushetia named Mansur Beltoev, who had been on the federal wanted list since 2017.
