• In October 2018, Gilyazovwas arrested on charges of participation in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia (Part 2 of Article 205.5). The case was built on the basis of a video about this political party that a man published on the Internet several years ago. Gilyazov claimed that books and videotapes were planted on him during the search. At the end of December, the man was released from custody on his own recognizance.
• Gilyazov has the first group of disability due to Duchenne myopathy, in which muscles atrophy. He uses a wheelchair and weighs 40 kilograms. Last year he spent two months in a pre-trial detention center.
