In dozens of Russian cities, protests were held against the reform of waste disposal under the general title "Russia is not a garbage dump." The largest rallies, according to MBKh Media, were held in the Arkhangelsk region, where they plan to take garbage from Moscow to the Shies landfill.

Actions in various forms were also held in other large Russian cities - from Krasnoyarsk to Kaliningrad . Approximately 200 people came to the rally in the Specific Park in St. Petersburg. In Moscow, the action took place near the prefecture of the Central Administrative District in the form of a people's gathering, gathered by the head of the Tagansky municipal district, Ilya Sviridov.

Before the rally in the Kemerovo region, three activists were detained, one of them was arrested for 12 days on charges of disobeying the police.

Since 2019, a "garbage reform" has started in Russia - waste management operators are being created in the regions, and procedures for sorting and processing waste are being developed. Regional operators will be united by a special state-owned company.
