The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation does not plan to offer to return the transport tax deductions registered with the Plato State Construction to the carriers, TASS reports with reference to the head of the department of Evgeny Dietrich.
From January 2016 to January 1, 2019 on an annual basis of an individual registered in the Plato system, they were actually exempted from the transport tax for trucks permitted by the maximum weight of over 12 tons, due to the tax deduction. If the amount of payments under the Plato system for the year was more tax payments, then the owner of the truck was exempted from paying the transport tax.
Now this mechanism has stopped acting, the minister said. “We said that this deduction is provided for one year. We keep our word,” Dietrich noted. “We will not offer it (extension. - Approx. TASS ).”
Previously, the sectoral council of alliances and associations (OSSU) representing regional and all -Russian associations of carriers and the largest motor transport companies sent an appeal to Dmitry Medvedev to extend the benefit of the benefits.
The transport tax is paid by all owners of vehicles, funds are received in the road funds of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and are spent on local and regional roads. The tax is calculated based on the engine power. At the same time, the constituent entities of the Russian Federation themselves establish tax rates within the permitted limits, and also determine tax benefits.

Introduced in Russia from November 15, 2015. During the operation of the system, about 63.8 billion rubles were raised. Over 1.12 million trucks are registered in the system.
