In the Stavropol region, a judge who tried to sell a judicial position had his suspended sentence replaced with a real one

The Stavropol Regional Court replaced the former judge Maxim Novikov with a three-year suspended sentence in a penal colony in the case of fraud in judicial positions, according to the website of the court.

In November 2014, the judge of the Nevinnomyssk City Court of the Stavropol Territory, Novikov, together with his accomplice Armen Petrosyants, promised the position of a judge in the Stavropol Territory to a local resident for 4 million rubles. However, he reported everything to the regional department of the FSB, and during the transfer of the dummy they were detained.

In July 2017, Petrosyants was sentenced to three years of probation and a fine of 100,000 rubles; in October 2018, Novikov was found guilty of attempted fraud, also sentenced to three years of probation with a fine of 500,000 rubles.

The press service of the regional court told Interfax that the verdict was reviewed at the request of the prosecutor's office.
