Interfax: The Accounts Chamber did not support the bill on autonomous Internet

The Accounts Chamber prepared a review in which it opposed the bill on the autonomous operation of the Russian segment of the Internet, reports Interfax, which obtained the document.

The Accounts Chamber believes that the implementation of this bill will cause an increase in prices for goods and services on the Russian market, “which carries the risk of increasing budget expenditures at all levels of the budget system of the Russian Federation to pay for them.”

In addition, the Accounts Chamber notes, the bill requires additional budget expenditures.

When the bill was first introduced to the State Duma, the authors argued that no additional budget money was needed for its implementation. At the same time, today one of the authors of the initiative, Senator Andrei Klishas, ​​said that the passport of the Information Security project, which was approved by the government, includes more than 20 billion rubles for this bill.

The relevant State Duma committee recommended considering the bill on February 12. He was supported by representatives of Yandex and Mail.ru Group, which owns VKontakte. At the same time, experts from the Digital Economy organization warned that the implementation of the project could lead to a failure of the entire communication system in Russia.
