The court approved the house arrest of Open Russia activist Anastasia Shevchenko

The Rostov Regional Court rejected the cassation appeal of the defense and left Anastasia Shevchenko, a member of the federal council of Open Russia, under house arrest, reports . 161.ru

Shevchenko is accused of collaborating with an undesirable organization (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code), this is the first criminal case initiated under this article. At the end of January, the activist was placed under house arrest.

According to the investigator, Shevchenko is accused of a crime that encroaches "on the foundations of the constitutional order and the security of the state."

The reason for initiating criminal prosecution was, as the case file says, “criminal intent”: after two administrative cases under Article 20.33 (participation in an undesirable organization), Anastasia did not stop her activities.

According to the case file, at a meeting of Open Russia in September, Shevchenko called on activists to infiltrate protest groups, offering them legal assistance, and two months later, at a rally, she “showed symbols from the protest rally“ Tired of it ”.

On January 30, Shevchenko's daughter was hospitalized from a boarding school for children with developmental disabilities, on January 31 the girl died in intensive care.
