The Canadian received a life sentence for the murder of eight sexy partners. The ninth was saved by the police

In Canada, the court sentenced Bruce MacArthur to the long -term conclusion of the serial killer. He killed eight people and was probably preparing to kill the ninth when the police came to his house to arrest.

MacArthur was born in 1951 in a small town in Ontario. In his youth, he was married, his son and daughter were born in marriage. In the mid-1990s, MacArthur admitted to his wife that he was homosexual, after which he divorced and moved to Toronto, where he began to meet with men and joined the local gay community. In 2003, he received a two -year suspended sentence on charges of attack, after he hit one of his partners with an iron rod on the head.

MacArthur began to kill in 2010. All his victims were gays, most of them were immigrants from Asia and hid their homosexuality. With some of them, MacArthur had a romantic relationship. After the murders of MacArthur, Striga of his victims, inserted their cigars into their mouths and took photos. He buried the corpses in his suburban area, and hid cut hair in a cache near the cemetery in Toronto. For a long time, the police investigated a statement about the disappearance of men individually, not suspecting that there was a connection between crimes.

In 2013, MacArthur was first interrogated as part of the investigation of the disappearance of one of his victims, a refugee from Sri Lanka of the Navaranam scandarage-the police knew that Navaranam and MacArthur had a long novel, after which they remained friends. The killer was questioned as a witness, he did not cause any suspicions.

In 2016, MacArthur again came into the field of view of the police, after he tried to strangle the sex partner in his van. He was not charged then. He became the suspect only in mid -2017: the police discovered in the diary of one of the dead Bruce, made next to the date when he was seen for the last time. The recordings of video surveillance cameras showed that he got into the car to MacArthur. The suspect was established by observation, the police also received a court permission to hold a hidden search in his apartment.

MacArthur was arrested in January 2018. Shortly before that, a man went into his apartment, and the police hastened to arrest the suspect because she was afraid of a new murder. The man was found alive, he was attached to the bed, and a bag was put on his head. As it became known later, among the things MacArthur, the police discovered a flash drive on which there were nine folders. Eight of them were photographs of the dead, and in the ninth - pictures of a man found in an apartment.

Immediately after the arrest, MacArthur was charged with only two murders, but after a few days, during searches on his site, the remains and other victims were discovered. MacArthur later pleaded guilty to all the crimes in which he was suspected.

According to Canadian laws, only a lifelong conclusion can be a punishment for murder of the first degree in any case. The only thing that may change is the deadline after which MacArthur will be able to submit a petition for early release. Protection lawyers asked for a minimum period of 25 years in such cases, the prosecutor’s office insisted on 50 years - as a result, the court sided with the defense. MacArthur will be able to ask for liberation in 2044.
