The jury acquitted the accused of detonating a grenade at a bus stop in the center of Moscow

The jury unanimously acquitted Alexander Rul, who was accused of detonating a grenade at a bus stop on Pokrovka Street in 2015, TASS reported , citing the press secretary of the Basmanny District Court.

The jury returned a verdict of not guilty because they did not see the involvement of the accused in the crime, the spokeswoman said. The next hearing in the Rule case is scheduled for February 12, during which the parties will discuss the verdict, while the jury will be exempted from further participation in the case.

Recall that in 2017 Rul was found guilty of illegal possession of weapons (Article 222 Part 1 of the Criminal Code) and attempted murder (Article 30 Part 3 and Article 105 Part 2 of the Criminal Code), and sentenced to 8.6 years in prison freedom. The investigation insisted that Rule threw an F-1 grenade out of the attic window of house No. 19 on Pokrovka, as a result of which five people were injured. The striking element was fragments of a crystal vase containing a grenade, investigators noted.

The defendant denied his guilt. Later, the Moscow City Court overturned the verdict due to violations of the criminal procedure law during the consideration of the case. The preventive measure of the accused was changed to house arrest, and the case was returned to the prosecutor's office.
