The compact tablet was last updated in 2015.
In the spring of 2019, Apple will release iPad mini 5 with an updated processor, a second version of AirPods with improved sound and black color, and an AirPower mat for wireless charging. This was reported by sources from MySmartPrice and Mac Otakara .
iPad Mini 5 will retain the design and dimensions of previous generations, and will also remain with a Lightning connector and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The device will receive a new processor, but not the latest generation: Apple wants to equip the tablet with the A10 chip, which is used in the iPhone 7 or A10X (version for Apple TV 4K).
According to journalists, the appearance of AirPods 2 will not differ from the first version, but Apple will improve the bass and sound clarity. The company will also switch to matte plastic, similar to what Google used for the back of the Pixel 3.
In addition, the headphones will get dark colors and will become more expensive - their price will start at 200 dollars (about 13 thousand rubles) instead of the current 160 (10.5 thousand rubles). In January 2019, Digitimes reported that second-generation AirPods will be able to track health indicators.
MySmartPrice sources also confirmed that AirPower is ready for release. It is noted that Apple will add “exclusive” features for the device, but they will become available only with the release of iOS 13. The mat will be sold at a price of $150 (about 10 thousand rubles). In January 2019, the Hong Kong website ChargerLAB, citing Apple contractors, reported that the company had solved the problems with the device and was ready to begin production.
AirPower was announced in September 2017 and has not gone on sale since then. As conceived by Apple, the mat was supposed to allow simultaneous charging of the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods. They wanted to release it in 2018, but the company encountered technical problems with mass production. Among the main difficulties were the dense arrangement of the energy coils and overheating.
