The State Duma adopted in the second reading amendments that prohibit military personnel and citizens called up for military training from distributing or providing information via the Internet that makes it possible to determine their belonging or purpose to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, other troops, military formations and bodies. A similar ban is proposed to be extended to information about colleagues, as well as family members and parents of military personnel, including “information that allows determining the location of these persons in a certain period,” the Duma . reported
The ban, in the event of the final approval of the law, should also apply to the dissemination of information about the activities of military command and control bodies, military formations and units, including information about their deployment or redeployment of bodies.
