Buddhist from Sochi fined for preaching

In Sochi, a court fined a local resident five thousand rubles for missionary activity on behalf of the Russian Association of Diamond Way Buddhists of the Karma Kagyu Tradition. This is stated on the website of the Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnodar Territory without specifying which court made the decision.

The man was found guilty under part 4 of article 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the requirements of the law on freedom of conscience, religion and religious associations). It is noted that he conducted sermons in non-residential premises "without permits."

The case was checked by the prosecutor's office together with the FSB department.
