The ex-head of the Serpukhov district said he was beaten by FSIN officers and police officers

The former head of the Serpukhov District, Alexander Shestun, said that he was beaten by the Federal Penitentiary Service and the police at the moment when he was taken to the Basmanny District Court of Moscow. The Prosecutor General's Office accused him of provocation. The beating is reported on the Facebook of the former official, writes about the provocation. RIA Novosti

According to Shestun, he was beaten by 20 people. They threw him on the pavement and beat him with truncheons "all over his body." At the court session, Shestun became ill and asked to call an ambulance.

“This morning I was beaten in a pre-trial detention center while being escorted, I ask you to call an ambulance. My head hurts, my kidneys hurt, they were beaten with rubber truncheons, I don’t feel well, ” reports Shestun’s words. Moskva agency

The judge refused to call the doctors. At the meeting, an employee of the escort service said that Shestun had tried to commit suicide in the pre-trial detention center the day before. The defendant called the information a lie, saying that he accidentally cut himself with a paper clip.

A few hours later, the Prosecutor General's Office accused Shestun of staging a suicide and preparing a provocation against the security forces. According to the official representative of the department, Alexander Kurennoy, the former official wanted to get into a medical institution, where he allegedly has “corrupt connections and contacts.”

Also, a representative of the Prosecutor General's Office said that Shestun was going to file fictitious complaints about the deterioration of mental health, delaying the investigation and the trial. According to Kurennoy, part of the plan of the former official was "an information campaign to slander high-ranking officials from among the leadership of federal executive bodies."

• Oleksandr Shestun was detained in June 2018 on charges of abuse of power - allegedly he illegally transferred a plot of land to a legal entity at a reduced cost. Prior to his arrest, he announced threats of a criminal case because of the approval of a rally against garbage dumps. The ex-head of the Serpukhov district said that he was threatened by the governor of the Moscow region Andrei Vorobyov. Then the charge was reclassified to "fraud".
• The Prosecutor General's Office stated that Shestun has property worth 10 million rubles, which does not correspond to his income. In February 2019, he was charged with a bribe of 9 million rubles.
