Hungary sells Russian fighters MiG-29

The Ministry of Defense of Hungary sells all the Russian fighters MiG-29 available on the balance sheet of the department.

A single lot is put up for an open auction, which includes 19 aircraft, many of which require major repairs, 20 engines and 293 other items (including spare parts and built -in weapons). The starting price of the lot is 10 million dollars.

After the buyer is found, the Russian authorities will have to be approved.

The cost of one new MiG-29 is now about $ 25 million.

Hungary received 28 MiG-29 from Russia in 1993 as a payment of Soviet debt. After joining NATO, Budapest began to gradually replace Russian fighters. In 2013 and 2017, Hungary already announced the partial sale of the MiG-29.
