The court in Moscow rejected complaints about the extension of the arrest of Ukrainian sailors

The Moscow City Court rejected complaints about the extension of the arrest of four Ukrainian sailors detained off the coast of the annexed Crimea. They will remain in custody until April 24.

Earlier, the Moscow City Court left four more Ukrainian sailors. And 16 more are waiting for a decision on their complaints. All of them were detained by Russian border guards using force and weapons in the Kerch Strait in November last year. Ukrainian sailors were accused of illegally crossing the border. Kyiv considers the incident an act of aggression, sailors calls prisoners of war and requires their immediate liberation, and accuses Russia of provocations.

The Russian authorities said that the Ukrainian military went on a conscious provocation. According to the position of the Russian authorities, sailors cannot be prisoners of war due to the lack of war between Russia and Ukraine.
