The Ministry of Justice did not include the scientific center "Memorial" in the Register of Inoagents

The Ministry of Justice of Russia did not include the scientific-information and educational center "Memorial" in the register of "foreign agents". This was reported by the International Memorial.

In January, the department conducted an unscheduled audit of a human rights organization. The Ministry of Justice claimed that the Scientific and Formation Center did not apply for the inclusion in the register of NGOs-"foreign agents", although it should have done it. The verification was carried out on the basis of information received from a certain state body. Which one was not specified.

On January 14, "Memorial" handed over to the Ministry of Justice the documents requested for verification. The audit revealed only a number of inconsistencies in the charter with modern legislation. The Ministry of Justice did not consider scientific research and work with archives, noted in the international memorial.

The Scientific Center "Memorial" is engaged in historical research, including the history of the history of state terror. It is included in the structure of the international memorial. This human rights organization, as well as six of its divisions, are already included in the register of "foreign agents".
