Floors collapsed in ITMO University building in St. Petersburg. Up to 20 people may be under the rubble

In St. Petersburg, during repair work, the ceilings of the ITMO University building on Lomonosov Street collapsed.

There is no information about casualties yet. There may be "up to 20 people" under the rubble, an Interfax source said .

The Ministry of Emergency Situations announced the evacuation of 60 people. According to Fontanka, there were students and teachers in the building, "some people were locked in the premises."

"The roof was falling from top to bottom, it broke through the fifth, fourth, third, second floors and collapsed the entire first. That is, all the classrooms that were in the middle. All you can see are the walls and a hole from top to bottom," an ITMO student told Fontanka.
