The Prosecutor General’s Office canceled the Decree of the Investigative Committee on the initiation of a criminal case against the mayor of Nefteyugansk Sergey Degtyarev, Znak.com reported with reference to sources.
According to the publication, a decree dated February 13, signed by the head of the fourth investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Ruslan Ibiev, was published on the Internet. It reported that a criminal case was instituted against Degtyarev under the articles “Excess authority” and “falsification of evidence”. Degtyarev informed the publication that he knew nothing about the criminal case.
On January 24, the media reported the detention of Sergei Degtyarev and that he was suspected of abuse of powers and receiving a bribe. Searches were held at the city hall and the Degtyarev apartment. The RIA Novosti source associated investigative actions with the conflict of Degtyarev with law enforcement agencies.
"In 2018, Sergey Degtyarev got into a conflict with law enforcement agencies. The head of the municipality initiated the resignation from the post of Vice-mayor of Nefteyugansk Sergey Lagogy, a native of state security agencies, who previously served in the FSB in the Kurgan region," he said.
The next day, information appeared on the hospitalization of the head of Nefteyugansk.
On January 30, Degtyarev, during a press conference, accused the deputy governor of the region Alexei Shipilov of trying to force the city hall . According to the official, Shipilov stood behind the visit of the FSB and informational stuffing.
Degtyarev claimed that they tried to make him resign. Allegedly, on the day of searches, Shipilov came to the administration, which was closed by order of law enforcement agencies, and offered to write to him a statement of care. Degtyarev refused this proposal.
