The State Duma forbade the military to have gadgets and talk about the service

On Tuesday, the State Duma of Russia adopted in the third, final reading the law on banning military personnel and conscripts to have phones and any other devices for recording and storing information and with the Internet connection in the service. In addition, the military will be forced to tell reporters and write on the Internet about the features of the service and about former colleagues and their relatives.

408 deputies voted for the document, no one opposed it.

The publication of such data in social networks has repeatedly led to leaks. Thanks to social networks, journalists, investigators and experts managed to get direct or indirect confirmation of the stay of Russian troops in 2014 in Ukraine, and since 2015 - in Syria. Data from social networks was also used by investigators in order to confirm the Russian origin of the Buk complex, which was shot down by the Malaysian Boeing over the Donbass 2014, as well as the facts of Russian bombing of civilian objects in Syria.

According to human rights activists, the adoption of this law, which will also affect the soldiers, can lead to an increase in the level of "hazing" in the Russian army.
