The Ministry of Justice has registered an order of the Ministry of Transport, which will allow passengers to use an electronic coupon when checking in for a flight, according to the website of the Ministry of Transport. This opportunity will be available at airports that have the necessary equipment for this.
Details. It will be possible to register with an electronic ticket at airports that have an information system, which includes an inspection database, as well as barcode scanning devices.
Airports' response. The Domodedovo press service reported that they are ready to serve passengers according to the new rules. The automated turnstiles (eGates) required for this have been operating at the airport since last year. The Sheremetyevo press service told The Bell that they are also ready to introduce an electronic ticket. Pulkovo Airport is interested in switching to new requirements, but does not yet have the equipment necessary for such registration, the press service reported . Vnukovo did not respond to The Bell’s request.
Context. The Ministry of Transport approved the corresponding order back in September 2017, but in October the Ministry of Justice returned it for revision due to the fact that the document lacked requirements for the passenger registration system, its databases and their operation.
