Samsung unveiled its first foldable Galaxy Fold smartphone and new models of the Galaxy S series at a presentation in San Francisco.
The Galaxy Fold folds vertically. It has a 7.3" inner screen and a 4.6" outer screen. It can be used when the smartphone is folded. The Galaxy Fold supports up to three active apps on one screen at the same time.
The smartphone has six cameras: three of them are located on the back of the phone, two on the inside, and one more on the front. In addition, Galaxy Fold is equipped with a fingerprint scanner; it was placed on the side. The smartphone will be released in 5G and LTE versions.
The Galaxy Fold will go on sale worldwide on April 26. The smartphone will cost from 1980 dollars. For pre-order in Russia, the device will be available in the second quarter of 2019; its value for the Russian market has not yet been announced, RBC reports .
Samsung also introduced new models of Galaxy S series smartphones - S10, S10e, S10 Plus, and S10 5G. The base model S10 received a 6.1-inch screen with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The smartphone is equipped with four cameras, one of which is built into the screen.
The premium S10 5G supports fifth-generation mobile communications, has a diagonal of 6.7 inches and six cameras. The S10 Plus has a diagonal of 6.4 inches; The phone is equipped with five cameras. The most budget model S10e has three cameras and a diagonal of 5.8 inches. In addition, unlike other new models, the S10e does not have curved edges, and the fingerprint scanner is located on the power button.
In Russia, sales of the new Galaxy S will begin on March 8. The cost of S10 will be from 69 thousand, S10 Plus - from 77 thousand rubles, S10e - from 57 thousand rubles. The price of the S10 5G is not yet known.
