Why actually the prime minister of Israel Netanyahu postponed a meeting with Vladimir Putin

Everything is very serious - at least for Netanyahu. There is a high probability that the current cadence as an Israeli prime minister is the last. Many of the Israelis are dissatisfied with the existing situation - rising prices, the dictatorship of religious parties, an outflow of young people who do not see prospects. And also the corruption scandals that occur with enviable regularity, in which the prime minister and his wife appear. All this is quite enough for voters to decide that 10 years as the prime minister is still too much.

Most likely, he understands this himself Netanyahu. The questions that he was going to discuss with Putin may well wait: Iran, Syria and Hamas with Hezbollah will not go anywhere. But on the other hand, Thursday, February 21 (that is, the originally scheduled date of the meeting with the President of Russia) is the last day of the formation of party lists before the elections to the Knesset. It is interesting that at first the lists should have been formed on Wednesday, the 20th, and on the evening the same was planned to fly Netanyahu to Moscow. However, finally the formation of lists was postponed to Thursday - accordingly, I had to postpone a visit to Moscow.

For Netanyahu, this is a matter of political survival. It seems that the main opponents of his Likud party in the April 9 elections will be the former chief of the Israeli Defense General of the Army, Lieutenant General Beni Ganz, who created his party Hosen Le-Israel (“The strength of Israel”), and the leader of the Parliamentary Party Esh Atid (“The Future is”), the writer and journalist Yair Lapid. Just on Wednesday, at a meeting behind closed doors, both Levocentrist leader decided to unite forces, which means a powerful blow to the Netanyahu camp, which remains less and less his supporters.

Netanyahu behaved strangely. Israeli newspapers, for example, the oldest edition of Haaret, not embarrassed in expressions, write about the "vile desire of Netanyahu to bring the racists into the political life of Israel."

We are talking about the prime minister’s attempts to put a bloc from religious and right-wing parties quickly, which resulted in the consent of the Jewish House and the OCMA Yehudi parties (Jewish power) to go to the April 9 elections in a single list. Judging by the polls, separately their chances of getting into the Knesset strive to zero, but together they may well provide support to the liquid.

It is interesting that the “OCMA Yehudit” largely shares the ideology of Rabbi Merira Kahana, who was killed in 1960, (creator of the Kach movement, recognized as terrorist, including in the USA and Israel), who advocated the deportation of Israeli Arabs and a ban on marriages between Jews and non -Jews.

Everything is clear with the Arabs, they have their own “united list”. As for the votes of the “Russian” Israelis, most of them are most likely already lost. This was very contributed to the posters hung throughout Israel, on which Benjamin Netanyahu is depicted next to the leader of the ultra-religious party, Shas Arya Deri (in 1999, as head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he was convicted for 4 years for corruption, and in 2016 again becomes the Minister of the Interior in the Government of Netanyahu). The inscription under the image reads: "Bibi ( so they call Netanyahu in Israel . - V.S. ) a strong lion is needed." The name Arya is translated from Hebrew as “Leo”.

Leo-Arya is widely known for its attacks against the "Russians" in Israel.

Not so long ago, for example, the scandal caused his public statement that immigrants from the former USSR come to Israel, "to ride on Saturdays on cars and there is pork."

It seems that Netanyahu’s affairs are actually going on, because in today's Israel to come closer to the ultra -right and ultra -organization - this is openly opposing the most advanced and educated part of society. How much this part of the society is numerous after April 9th.
